Your data stays on your device

Last updated: July 7, 2026

Tazkirah doesn’t ask you to sign up, doesn’t track you, and doesn’t sell or share data — because it doesn’t collect any personal data in the first place. This page explains exactly what the app stores and why.

No account, no personal information

Tazkirah has no sign-up, login, or user account of any kind. We never ask for your name, email address, phone number, or any other identifying information.

What stays on your device

The following is stored locally on your phone, using standard on-device storage. It is never transmitted to us or to any third party:

  • Your theme, font size, language, and notification preferences
  • Your daily streak count
  • Whether you’ve completed onboarding

Uninstalling the app, or clearing its storage, permanently deletes this data. We have no copy of it and no way to recover it.

How daily content reaches you

The quote and hadees you see each day are read from our content database (Google Cloud Firestore). This is a one-way, read-only request — the app doesn’t send anything about you when it fetches today’s content.

Push notifications are delivered through Firebase Cloud Messaging using topic subscriptions (“daily quote” and/or “daily hadees”, depending on what you enable in Settings). Firebase assigns your device an anonymous delivery token to make this possible — Tazkirah never reads, stores, or links that token to you in any way. You can turn notifications off at any time from your device settings.

Sharing a quote or hadees

When you share a quote or hadees as an image, it’s rendered entirely on your device and handed to your phone’s native share sheet (WhatsApp, Telegram, etc.). Nothing is uploaded to us in the process — we don’t even know that it happened.

Permissions the app requests

  • Notifications — to deliver your daily quote/hadees reminder. Optional; you can decline or revoke it anytime.
  • Internet— to fetch the day’s content and receive push notifications.

Tazkirah does not request access to your camera, photos, contacts, or location.

What we don't do

  • No analytics or usage tracking
  • No crash reporting SDKs
  • No advertising or advertising identifiers
  • No data sold or shared with third parties

Third-party services

Tazkirah uses Google Firebase (Cloud Firestore and Cloud Messaging) purely as described above — to deliver public content and optional notifications. No personal data is sent to Firebase by the app. Firebase’s own handling of service-level data is governed by Google’s Privacy Policy.

Children's privacy

Tazkirah does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children, because it does not collect personal information at all.

Changes to this policy

If what Tazkirah collects ever changes — for example, if we add an optional account or sync feature in the future — this page will be updated first, with a new “last updated” date above.
